From the Railroad Museum, one rider departed directly for her home-20 east of Columbia while the remainder of the group rode en masse back to Columbia over more scenic secondary roads. The ride ended in plenty of time for Carolina fans to circle the wagons for the second major event of the day, the Carolina-Georgia football game, which was beamed into the Palmetto State via ESPN from Athens, Ga., starting at 4:30 p.m. Next up: a Sept. 14 ride to Augusta, Ga., and lunch at one of the city's historic waterfront restaurants. The ride will form up at the Lexington K-Mart at 9 a.m. on the 14th. See you there. MS

Another day of good weather combined with scenic South Carolina secondary roads and some memorable country cooking at a venerable Winnsboro, S.C., family style restaurant were the ingredients for the Sept; 7 ride of the Columbia Southern Cruisers.
Ten bikes left from the Lexington, S.C.., K-Mart at 10 a.m., picked up another rider en route on the Irmo side of the Lake Murray Dam, and were joined at the restaurant by yet another rider who lives south of Winnsboro. The buffet style eatery known as The Barn in Winnsboro was the destination for the day's ride that also included a stop at the S.C. Railroad Museum in Winnsboro. Along the way, riders got a glimpse of a miles-long yard sale that stretched over several communities in the vicinity of Winnsboro on Friday and Saturday.

Best way to spend a Saturday! Good food and a side excursion to the train museum. We even worked in a "group review" ( a.k.a. U-Turn!! ) BTW: Our friends REALLY enjoyed meeting and riding with us.

Great riding weather. Company was awesome. Food was excellent. Going to the train museum was a lot of fun. Love riding with all our friends. This group has become like a second family. Thanks to Jimmy for making this possible.
