Lunch Ride to "Buzz's Roost" in Historic Georgetown

A nice ride over to the Georgetown waterfront. We'll enjoy some good food while enjoying a view of the harbor from the roof deck.

Okay - so it appears a fire in Georgetown destroyed the Buzz's Roost along with several other buildings. At least no one will be arguing about where to sit with some shade. I'm glad we got to go before the loss of this landmark. Thanks Lindy and Mac.

thought when I saw the news that it looked like the old hotel we stopped by. Didn't realize that the "Roost" was involved

What a day! Started out cloudy and then really nice. Had a great lunch, some good ice cream and lots of great conversations. What a fantastic group of people. We really had a good time. The view overlooking the restaurant was beautiful. Georgetown is a great little town. Hit rain twice on the way home, but thank goodness it didn't last too long. Coopers gas station was a real treat. Old timey place with hams hanging in a room. It was so great getting to see everyone and getting to meet and ride with some new members! Can't wait to see everyone again!

I don't know if anyone will get this email soon enough. I am at work now in Sumter and will get off about 8:00 AM. Could meet ya'll on the way if you are coming this way to go to GT. From here, it is easiest to go through Manning on 521 to GT. If I hear back from you and we can meet just outside Sumter at the Park and Ride just before you get to Shaw AFB, I will do that. Garners Ferry is 76/378, the same Rd. to Sumter.

If anyone going to Georgetown Saturday lives in the Red Bank\Lexington area and would like to meet up to ride together to Garners Ferry, let me know!

That's a great place , Pat and I love the GT waterfront. We wish we could go but we will be in Texas at that time. For those that don't know GT has a board walk along the river with a lot a places to eat and chill out. Best Oysters on the half shell and darn cold beer ! Spend a night the night life is also great lots of bands and such.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
