SCRC National Rally

  • September 4, 2014 · 8:00 AM

TO ALL SOUTHERN CRUISERS OFFICERS AND MEMBERS: I would like to personally invite you to attend the 2014 SCRC National Rally in Lexington, Kentucky. The rally is being held September 4, 2014 through September 7, 2014 at the Clarion Hotel on Newtown Pike in Lexington, Kentucky. Kentucky has some of the best roads for motorcycle riding in the US. From a leisurely ride through horse farm country or to one of our many bourbon distilleries to the more challenging roads in The Red River Gorge area where you can challenge your skills, Kentucky has the best riding anywhere. Guests will stay at the SCRC affinity service Clarion Hotel where elegant comfort in an ideal location meets great service and affordability. The Clarion sports exceptional amenities such as a huge indoor pool, sauna, hot tub, large arcade, indoor basketball court, restaurant, bar and grill and plenty of outdoor room for parking and canopies! It is close to I-75, fueling stations and several nice restaurants and fast food providers as well. This should not be an expensive trip. Along with reasonable rates for the hotel (full hot breakfast included) the Saturday night meal will be included in the registration fee. T-shirts, patches and other items will be for sale at a reasonable price. We’re doing everything we can to keep affordability and those of us on a budget in mind. Lexington is centrally located within a day’s ride of 75% of the US population; this means lower costs and less time spent getting to and from the rally. I am confident you will not be disappointed if you attend the 2014 SCRC National Rally in Lexington so come experience exceptional hospitality, see magnificent horse farms, sample some of the finest bourbon and southern fare and have fun riding through the rolling hills in the Bluegrass state. Come early and stay late, we promise that you will have a terrific time at the 2014 National Rally! Be sure to mention the SCRC National Rally when you contact the hotel. For reservations you may call the hotel at[masked] or go to http://www.secure-res.com/res/vn4/cglogin.aspx?hotelid=3672&rlog=2320&pd=scrcbk Arrangements are being made for this rally to be one of the best in SCRC history! Hope to see you there! Rick Rick Lewis First Officer, Chapter 63, Lexington, KY Southern Cruiser Riding Club CVMA S-4, Moose Riders, AMA, HOG

I used to live in Ky about 70 miles east of there. Beautiful green rolling hills and gorgeous scenery; to say nothing of the bluegrass and horse farms! I never did get to go to the The Kentucky Horse Park but I know it must be a really interesting place. There are so many things to do in Lexington. It sounds as if they've got a lot of fun things planned too. I wish Sam and I could go, because I haven't been back to Ky since 2007. It'll be a nice trip up there. Y'all enjoy and ride safe. Hope the weather cooperates too.

Tam, I believe in you and think you will do fine. We'll be stopping along the way. If you'd rather maybe we could start up there a day earlier spend the nite and meet up with the rest Thurs. or go on in to Lex. and hotel.

Friends, According to Google maps, Lexington Kentucky is about 7 hours by car on the interstate. By now you should know my uneasiness on the interstate. Honestly, I'm not sure in my stamina to ride such a long distance. Don't have enough miles to qualify as an iron butt patch like some if you. It may be possible to trailer my bike. Not confident in my utility trailer to make the long trip either. So I seek your advice and counsel on this one please. Don't want to hold up anyone. Thank you.

Suggest a get together in the next weeks so that we can plan time and route. I would love to leave on the 3rd if anyone else is up to it.

Friday night at the rally we will be having a theme night. Our theme will be "Hillbilly Night". Wear your best bib overalls, straw hats, corn cob pipes and daisy dukes while enjoying the blue grass pickin' and singin' of Cold Stone Grass. Check them out at http://www.stonecoldgrassband.com/. Later Friday night there will be another band and more entertainment!

Oh no! Is there another hotel nearby that they can direct overflow? I thought I saw a person's name an number listed as coordinator. I look to see and perhaps contact him.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
