Saturday Church Service 5:30 PM, Dinner together 7:00!

You're invited to join the Grace Community Church "Singles With Grace" group

to attend

Grace Community Church's Saturday Evening Church Service

at 5:30 PM

on

Saturday, February 22, 2013

followed by a group Dinner

at 7:00 PM

Dinner will be at J+P New York Pizza.

8305 Ice Crystal Drive Suite #7
Scaggsville, MD 20723

(301)[masked]

They offer pizza, of course, but also a full Italian dinner menu.  Here is their website:

http://www.newyorkjandp.com/our-restaurants/scaggsville/

Google map link of the route from church:

Church service will be at:

Grace Community Church

8200 Old Columbia Road, Fulton, MD 20759

WEBSITE: http://www.gcchoco.org/

If you plan to attend the church service and go to dinner afterward, please RSVP to help us have an accurate count to give the restaurant.

Please note:

This is NOT an attempt in any way to take you away from your home church.

If you consider Grace Community Church to be your home church and plan to attend this service and would like to go to dinner, sign up please, so we can have an accurate count and let the restaurant know to expect us if we're a large group.

If you don't have a home church and are looking for one, please consider checking out Grace Community Church.  Having someone to meet up with and sit with when visiting a new church can make that a whole lot less intimidating.

If you're not able to attend your home church's Sunday service on a particular Sunday and would like a Saturday evening option that weekend for worship and teaching, please join us.

    Jan and Michelle,
I genuinely am sorry that I offended you. If I could take back my comments, I would. In rereading without taking into account my thoughts when writing, I can now see how it appeared. Genuinely, in my heart, my intent was not to correct, draw attention, or control – nor show disrespect. Of course, I am sobered by how this has come off, especially as my goal is that I reflect HIM. At times like this, I am reminded that my Hope is in HIM, and Philippians 1:6. That as I continue to dedicate myself to growing in wisdom, that HE will “finish the work that HE began in me”. Again, my sincere apologies.

While I understood the Pastors message it didn't do much for me. Any get together is good!

Thank you, Jan. I appreciate you SO much. For organizing ths and more. Excellent fellowship...glad that a few wonderful ladies (Shelly, Marian, Ginny) persuaded me to hang out for a while instead of just saying hello and cutting out.

Aw, no offense intended. Trying to help!

      February 22, 2014

    • Michelle L

Jan is the event host of this meetup and co-organizer of this group. Your attempt to "help" is perceived as disrespectful to her leadership capabilities, indicates a lack of trust in her ability to provide accurate and thorough directions and even comes across as an attempt to control the event and shine the attention on yourself by implying you know better than the event host. If anyone has suggestions or recommendations, email the event host, saying something like "I think this restaurant is hard to find, can I post a comment with additional directions...." That way, the event host can decide if they want to post your additional information or suggested directions. What you did was outright disrespect, not help. And that is MY opinion.

That was an unusually big crowd Paul. This is such a great group of people, how you come again.

Hi All. I am Catholic and just moved to Laurel and am going to St. Francis (right next to Grace) for the 5:00pm mass if anyone else who is Catholic would like to join me. Then I thought I would come over at 6:00pm to join the GCC service. And then J&P's of course! Always enjoy this dinner.

      Yes, great idea Joanne!

Jan, thanks for doing this. Let me state - protocol is contacting the Organizer or Event Host with suggestions and recommendations. This lessens confusion, and is the respectful thing to do. They are in charge of the event, and will determine how to proceed.

Will be at dinner, likely not church. Despite great directions, I respectfully highly recommend taking restaurant ph # above with you and/or following someone who knows from church. Some folks have gotten lost around the many traffic circles! :-D

Ok- I've done it again! We are now taking up the whole back left side of the restaurant with a reservation for 50! I've called to confirm (Warn?) the restaurant about our record crowd for this month. AGAIN IF YOUR PLANS HAVE CHANGED AND YOU CAN NO LONGER ATTEND, PLEASE CHANGE YOUR RSVP AS SOON AS POSSIBLE SO WE CAN HAVE AN ACCURATE HEADCOUNT. - THANKS!!

    2 · February 19, 2014

  • Jan Clarke P.

I just raised the RSVP's to 40, but a according to my survey at the potluck, a lot of people still want to be included here. IF YOUR PLANS HAVE CHANGED AND YOU CAN NO LONGER ATTEND, PLEASE CHANGE YOUR RSVP. IT IS NOT FAIR TO TAKE A SPOT AND THEN NOT COME, SO LET ME KNOW AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. - THANKS!

Hi! I've been divorced for many years. I'll soon be an empty nester and am looking to meet some Christian friends as I get ready to explore this new chapter in my life.

If this meetup fills up, please get on the waitlist. Peoples' plans change and if someone cancels, waitlist people get bumped up. We usually find room for everyone!
