Meet at the museum at 11:45.  Our tour time is 12:00 Noon.  Don't be late!

There will be an option after the tour to go somewhere close by for an early afternoon meal, probably around 2:00 PM.

I expect this meetup to fill up and for there to be a waiting list.  (I made the arrangements for the tour over two months ago.)

If you sign up to attend and do not show up (preventing someone on the waiting list from going), you will be restricted from signing up for limited-capacity events in the future.

What an interesting and delightful afternoon. We had an excellent tour guide who gave us terrific behind the scenes stories. Met some new members and hope to see them at future events. Michelle and the other organizers, your hard work is so appreciated! Thank you.

In reference to grabbing a meal together afterward....this will be arranged on the spot. In other words - No pre-arranged plan for lunch. Just hang around after the tour is over and connect with a few other folks who also want to grab a bite. If you're new to this group, don't fear not being included. If you want to go, you will be invited/included by others who are going. The museum closes at 2:00 PM, whomever wants to grab a bite can organize themselves and follow one another to that restaurant. Most of the good options would be one or two exits North on the BW Parkway to Arundel Mills/Rt 100. Grace Garden for Chinese on 175.

Thanks Michelle! I hope to meet you tomorrow.

Hi friends, I must keep this under 40 people and even that is pushing it. The museum gave me a limit of 30 when I requested the guided tour and I asked if I could allow more people and they have let me do so. Please change your RSVP to No if you are not planning to attend. http://www.meetup.com/SCSCMD/events/78536552/

If you are planning to attend, PLEASE be on time, try to arrive by 11:45 as our tour time is scheduled for 12:00 noon. If you cannot go this time, GOOD NEWS - there is a plan for another meetup to go here again soon. Another trip to this museum will be posted when a date/time is finalized. Be on the lookout for it. Michelle

I changed my RSVP to no. Another event came up later in the day. I'll do the next one when it comes up.

      January 2, 2014

Since the limit is now "under 40 people" will the waiting list be revised? It presently shows 33 people going and 7 on the waiting list.

Hi Michele. Please advise regarding any changes in the waiting list regarding Saturday's tour.

    Thanks,

Before I ask the Museum if any more spaces are available on this tour, I'd like to ask anyone who has changed their plans to change their RSVP to No if you will not be attending this Saturday. http://www.meetup.com/SCSCMD/events/78536552/

Michelle, If there really are 17 people waiting, would you like me to "lead" a second group? Lenny;[masked] Thank you.

  • LENNY (LEONARD) D.

Michelle, My commitment for 1/4/13 has been canceled. I would VERY MUCH like to go to this event. Some of the displayed data has been Classified"Top Secret" for many years. THe United States"broke"both the German and Japanese Codes during WWII which aided in the winning of several battles in Europe and in the Pacific. In addition,a German submarine was dicovered to contain a "Code Book",which was used to the American advantage.. The American Indians, using their native language, were known as "Code Talkers"in the Pacific. This caused much confusion for the Japanese. WWII may have been extended,if not for this technology. Thank you for organizing this very interesting event.
