SCV Arthritis & Autoimmune Disease Support Group Mtg.- OUR Group Mtg.!!

Join us at our monthly Peer Support Group meeting where our goal is simply to make sure our members leave each meeting feeling better than when they arrived.

Each month a plethora of information will be provided and you will be surrounded by a support system of individuals who actually understand what you are going through because they are going through it as well. You will have the opportunity to share your experiences with a group of your peers and will be able to learn from everyone else's experiences too. At each meeting you will find yourself in a safe and confidential environment where you can vent, cry, smile, laugh and make some new friends in the process.

Our group meetings will always fall on the 4th Sunday of the month at 2:00 p.m.

If you have any questions, please contact Jena (The organizer of this event) at [masked] or at (661) 312-8913.

Hope to see you there!!!

    Irene,

I would happily pay the $7 month to get rid of the flash ads.
If there were at least some number of people who would
Post regularly. Even just to say "today sucks"

If I thought we had 10 or 12 people who would use it.
I will pick up the tab.

Yes, I agree. Perhaps it will grow with time.

The quick cut ads there do activate my symptoms though. I have to be careful with anything flashing like a seizure patient. It's a pain in the butt especially with how popular quick cuts are in tv these days.

Being my first meeting I would have to give it a thumbs up!
It is good to hear from other people, and just know they get it
when say something about family, friends, doctors, etc.

Not that I am happy you can't sleep, but I suspect a few of us have issues. I have been up since 2:00am, in a way it is nice to know I am not alone. Sleep is one of my serious issues. Oh wait, crap they are all serious. I of course get great advice from my 82 year old mother. "We'll you lay down, close your eyes and sleep - what is the problem ?" I gave up trying to communicate most of my challenges to my family. My wife is very understanding, but it just doesn't seem worth the effort with most anyone else.

Ok, I had to laugh at your what your grandmother said. I have horrible insomnia the whole 19 years I've been sick. But, you know, come to think of it.... I've never tried to just lay down and close my eyes...wow, who would have thought to do that? (hehe)

oh pooh! It's my bro's birthday bash that night and i don't think my body can handle two events. Isn't that always the way? Nothing to do most of the time, then bam....two invites on the same day.....Have a great meeting!

I feel so sad that I've not been able to make one of these. Especially last month... one doesn't realize how often they 're sick until you try and schedule something! Boo.

I couldn't agree with you more, but I can assure you that we are one of the few group's of individuals that will never hold that against you!!! I mean, I already know that I'm barely going to get there tomorrow (considering it's almost 2 a.m. & I'm still awake) and I'm the group facilitator!!! Make sure to take care of you & I hope that you feel better soon- Hopefully you can make it in April!

Well, so far YogaWorks is definitely winning in the polls! If you haven't voted yet, go to: http://www.meetup.com/SCV-ChronicPain/polls/779772/ And, so that nobody gets confused, please remember that YogaWorks would be for April's meeting, not for tomorrow! :-)

I have done yoga too, can't do as much as I used to, but it's a great thing to do as you can even just do a few minutes at your home if you aren't up to more. Keeps your blood moving and helps with tone and stretching and "stuff". I miss taking classes.

I've missed the last few meetings because I haven't been feeling well. Feeling a bit better so I'm hoping to see you all this Sunday!

I took up yoga two months ago. Though getting a full diag has been a long process, I have had major back pain from nerves and discs. I have always fought through the pain to exercise. I know that if I give up range of motion or mobility I will either never get it back, or pay ten fold in pain to get it back.
Anyway, I have found yoga to be great. The stretching is helpful, and it certainly will tone and strengthen. Though I normally take private lessons to keep others from laughing ;). I will venture out and do it in a group. Damn I am just incapable of a short post.

It's ok... I like your posts! They are always very informative! And, I don't think you have to worry about the laughing... Knowing the way our group is, I'm sure that we will all be laughing anyways! :-)

OK if I commit, that will get me there... No making fun of the old guy :)

I hope to be there in March. That will be the day prior to blood work coming back that I am told may indicate Lupus, maybe RA, and Sjogren's.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
