Re: [SD-PUG] resurrecting SDPUG

sounds good to me. I'm starting a project where we will be using a pg database. I'm a newb, could use the help.

I would be interested in a basic getting-started for pg, with an emphasis on SQL: walk through building a small database with some rows, converting a flat file table into a PG table, adding another flat file and making sure there are no overlaps, etc.

Another topic would be psycopg2, the python driver for pg.

I would definitely be interested in LinuxCon

Hello all,

I would like to resurrect this group. But in order to do so I need some help:

1) Suggestions for a location where we can hold meetings: preferably someplace with guest wireless access and a projector that we can use.

2) Topics and/or people willing to present: presentations do not need to be very formal -- just spend 20 or 30 minutes telling the group how you are using Postgres, or how you solved some particular issue you were having. Even suggestions on topics you would like discussed would help.

Many thanks for any input on either of those two items.

Also, for what it is worth, I was contacted by the organizers of LinuxCon, which will be held in San Diego at the end of August.

They offered a 20% discount to our members. If there are any takers, let me know and I will request the discount code.
