Persimmon Orchard Visit

  • This location is no longer available

It's Persimmon Season! Choose from one of two dates.

We will be visiting pesticide free Primavera Orchard, which is one of our favorite orchards in North County. Some of you have been there before, so you know that visiting Nino's (our host) orchard is a lot of fun and informative. If you have never tasted a persimmon, come and find out what you are missing. Freshly picked ripe persimmons are so much more delicious than store bought ones. Nino will have some samples to taste and then show us around his orchard. This season, most of the persimmons available are the smaller variety. There may also be some larger size persimmons and tangerines available to be picked.

When: Saturday, November 17th, 2012
Time: 10:30 AM
What to Bring:
- Gardening clippers (kitchen shears also works)

- Shopping Bag(s)
- Cash

This visit is limited to 15 people. Increased - now limited to 20 people!
PLEASE BE KIND: DO NOT RSVP YES UNLESS YOU ARE 100% SURE YOU ARE GOING! IF YOU RSVP YES please show up or cancel your RSVP early so you do not prevent a fellow member from visiting the orchard.

  • Small Persimmons - $ 0.65/lb
  • Larger Size Persimmons - $ 1.25/lb
  • Tangerines - $ 0.65/lb

Questions? Email or call me.

*** Please note - this is not a public u-pick orchard. It is a private orchard and home of the farmer. He only allows group visits by invitation (only our group). So please do not show up on your own uninvited to his orchard.

Delicious persimmons and tangerines. Thanks Melin for organizing and making us feel so welcome. Nino has a great property and was happy to answer any of our questions. Great meet up!

One word I have to say WOW, myself including my 2 little boys had such a great time! This was my 1st meetup and I am so glad I was able to attend and I didnt want to leave. We had a blast time picking the persimmons and also the sweet seedless tangerines. I got carried away and by the time we were done I had loaded 2 full bags of persimmons and 1 bag of tangerines. When we got home the boys were excited to wash them even when it took us a while to finish it but it was worth the wait when we took a bite out of it. Thanks Melin, Jeff and the owner for such a fun day today!

This was my first meetup with this group and it was great! I could barely carry all the persimmons and tangerines I bought! The farm's owner was very charming and nice!

Everyone is welcome to join us. Please look at their website and print out a coupon for $1 off any adult meal. Address: 17120 Bernardo Center Drive, Rancho Bernardo, CA 92128
