PLEASE READ ALL OF THE INFORMATION BELOW BEFORE YOU RSVP — THANKS!
This tour is different from others we've had because MCASD charges for its docents. In order to secure your spot, you must pay the $3.50 docent fee when you RSVP. Discounted museum admission will be payable when you arrive at the tour. Please let me know if you have any questions. Here's how it breaks down:
*Docent fee (prepaid w/RSVP; nonrefundable): $3.50
*Museum admission (payable at event): $8 regular; $5 senior; free for MCASD members (you may sign up for a membership here)
This tour is limited to 30 attendees. For MCASD tour directions and policies, click here.
About the Artist: American artist Mike Berg works with master artisans in Istanbul, Turkey — where he now lives — to create large textiles graced by abstract forms, infused with the spirit of both abstract expressionist oil paintings and traditional central Asian textile art.
About MCASD Downtown: The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (MCASD) is the region’s foremost forum devoted to the exploration and presentation of the art of our time, presenting works across all media created since 1950. Located in the heart of downtown San Diego and in the coastal community of La Jolla, MCASD provides an unprecedented variety of exhibition spaces and experiences for the community, showcasing an internationally recognized collection and a dynamic schedule of exhibitions and public programs.
At MCASD in Downtown, experience contemporary art in a historic setting — the Jacobs Building, formerly the Santa Fe Depot baggage building — and view site-specific installations by artists Jenny Holzer and Richard Serra.
