Introduction

Total music slut. This is a life addiction that is good for you and others.

Do you like to sing or play an instrument - or both?

I attempt to do both and am relatively successful depending on who you ask. I'm in an acoustic duet called RxR that does both as well.

What is the last (most recent) song you learned to sing or play?

A song called One More Step. It is a song I just wrote this week. The last "cover" song I learned was Loudon Wainwright III's infamous Dead Skunk In The Middle Of The Road - with kazoo solo. My standards can be pretty low sometimes.

What Rick Kaylor is saying about this Meetup Group

Very good at rounding up people who want to share their music. Lots of really nice people.

  • Thank you Rick. I hope I haven't ruined Bob Dillon's "If Not For You". I really like that song and I think I just was not focusing very well last night but I started it and wanted to finish it. Thanks for the encouragement. And Happy Easter!

  • hey rick,

there's a hybrid german bass for sale in craigslist. If it's in good shape it could be a great bass.

    see http://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/ms...

  • Rick, If you go take a look at it and decide you might buy it, I would be happy to take a look at it and see if I see any problems with it. You don't want to buy it with serious problems because it can cost $1000+ to professionally fix the problems. If the bass is n good condition and with the bass bag and bow it seems like a good price. However, do a google search and see what a new one costs and other used ones(very important to have a comparison).

  • hi rick, the meisal bass is undoutly a student plywood bass. $750 is a good price IF there's nothing seriously wrong with the bass. It's a good looking bass from the picture. I would take a look at it. The price is right. Look for cracks, broken things, warped neck, warped anything. Be careful because if it's not setup a decent profession setup can cost a bit.
