Liquid Splash Photography and Actions

Learn how to create stunning liquid splash photography used in commercial product advertisements! Get a behind the scenes look at lighting and setup and learn what equipment to use and why. The session will also feature a step-by-step demo on color correcting, retouching and compositing the final image in Photoshop. You are encouraged to post questions on the Liquid Splash Photography discussion page before September 17th (to be answered at the Sept 17th meeting).

Alyssa Darby is a Seattle based commercial photographer specializing in beauty products. She has been photographing national and international beauty brands for nearly 10 years as a freelance and in-house photographer. www.alyssadarby.com

Well presented. Thanks for getting up there to share you knowledge Alyssa! It would be fun to do a live demo (or maybe a video demo due to the liquids)

I really enjoyed it. Alyssa knows her stuff and made it look so easy! She did a great job presenting for her very first time. And thank you Mike for the "bonus materials" on actions.

Sorry I couldn't hear much of the presentation, even though I wear hearing aids. I'm sure it was good information for photographers and illustrators alike. Alyssa is a good subject for a caricature.

I am new to photoshop. never used it in my life. I was able to understand what was going on, though the demo could have been slightly slower, but as I said I'm a new bee to photoshop and this was an advanced topic. I got an idea of what you can do with photoshop, which is good.

If anyone can suggest what subjects I should learn in Ps fist that would be great. I picked up a book on Photoshop CC call "Photoshop CC The Missing Manual" Just started reading it.

going through tutorials step by step is good, feels tedious but works. I do it for refresh on programs i hav lost "contact" with. If you can get access to Lynda. com videos (many Schools have subscriptions) they were my faves. Went from Avid to FinalCut with Lynda's help! You might consider a coach that way you can bring in the photo, questions etc that interest you and have the coach help you get where yo want to go.Idea, library meeting classes-i would be glad to help!
