SAPUG Member Show & Tell / Tips & Tricks

Show & Tell: Think of this as a visual potluck -- we all need to bring in a few images to feed each other's souls.

Send me 3 to 10 of latest or favorite images to share slideshow style with the group. All types of creative work encouraged! Well, at least anything that might have benefitted from Photoshop Lightroom or Bridge... Be ready to answer a few questions about your technique or just sit back in the glow of fame as your colleagues appreciate your work.

If you have printed work to show, we will either hang carefully with painter's tape or lay on a table (let me know in advance your needs). We will look these over during an extended intermission.

{ Send image files as flattened jpgs and at least 1000 pixels across for best display. Send to liz at lizmartini dot com. It would be best to send files to me as soon as you read this, but the day before is the official deadline. I will do my best to accommodate late submissions. }

Showing work of following photoshoppers so far:
Cameron Andersen
John Cornicello
Howard Heflin
Steve Lovitt
Rich MacDonald
Allegra McFarland
Jeffry Myers
Elizabeth W. Pankey
Mike Schley
Robert Wade
Thomas Zander

Tips & Tricks: Do we ever tire of learning a new trick?

We are currently scouting for a few talented souls to show us a quick technique on screen. Don't be frightened if I contact you directly -- there were some names discussed at the last meeting that will be headhunted! I will update this soon.

Burning questions? on how to best do something in Photoshop (LR/BR)? Email those to me and I will find someone to answer your question or put it up for general discussion.

Burning Questions:
Why shoot RAW?
Should I take the time to build actions for smaller projects?
Will the iPad replace Wacom tablets?
What would be best way to share images online for this group?

Be prepared for an interactive meeting and a chance to meet other creatives.

I need 3 volunteers to help check-in folks, take notes and photos.

We haven't determined the topic, speakers or activities quite yet. We got a ton of great ideas at the last meeting, so we are working on lining people up. Top ideas so far: painting/drawing with a Wacom tablet, Compositing, 3-D illustration, photography workflows and editing, altering photos, and going over basic skills each week (not meant to be a complete list).
