Stephen Burns Workshop

Creating a New Vision With Photoshop CC 2014 & Lightroom Integration

We are now part of the digital age and that requires artists to think differently since digital tools give us the capabilities to apply various styles of artistic expression. Because of this we are challenged with new possibilities to express our vision.

For photographers particularly those new tools include Photoshop CC 2104 & Lightroom.  This presentation will give you new approaches to photography as an expressive medium to take your work along a different path.

Stephen will also discuss the power of using more than one image to enhance the single photograph using compositing techniques.  One approach to creating effective composites is having a concrete understanding of how to apply channels and layer masks to blend and alter your imagery to bring about a unified concept.

Some of what Stephen will discuss includes:

1)  Defining the concept for a new composition.

2)  Better Layer organization for your expressive concept.

3)  Effective use of Smart Objects from an artist point of view.

4)  When to effectively applying layer masks to layer groups.

5)  Taking a look at the creative use of the layer blend modes.

6)  Understanding the power of clipping paths.

7)  How to customize the WACOM tablet for your personal workflow.

8)  Custom creating brushes for special effects purposes.

Join Stephen Burns as he shares the possibilities of taking what your camera produces into artistic imagery that matches the vision from your heart with the use of the powerful new tools in Photoshop CC 2014 and Lightroom.

If your transportation doesn't work, you can still attend using the Connect session to stream live plus you will be able to review it online at your leisure. You would also be able to review what you may have missed if you arrive late. All covered in the Workshop Fee. FWIW: While we do need a count for breakfast and lunch; you can register at the Workshop if things get dicey on your timing.

Hello! I am looking so forward to the opportunity to see everyone again. We had such a great turnout the last time I was there and I felt it was a very fun and informative exchange of information.

So, we are going to do something that SEAPUG has never done before and Howard and myself hope that it will inspire you to sore to greater creative heights.

I am going to provide a full day hands-on workshop designed to address artistic vision and technical ability to get you to think differently so that you can create more uniquely.

I was trained as a photographer in the film days. I exhibited my work recorded by the 4x5 view camera on B&W film but I am highly influenced by both the painting masters and the B&W photographic greats.

This workshop will combine Lightroom work flow to skill sets in Photoshop to bring about a whole new vision. So I hope to see everyone take advantage of this unique opportunity and remember that this will be recorded & attendees will receive it.

I would like to attend, but I do not have a laptop "fully loaded" as described -- Will Steve use the adobe screens for the presentation? If yes, it may still be beneficial for me to attend I have a great interest in composites and expanding my knowledge on channels...

Stephen's presentation will use the room's screens as we always do with our presenters.

This is not completely my approach but we must keep an OPEN mind and some new ways to look at the options the digital world presents us with. This can work as my new start to a new venture.
