I am writing articles and a memoir about living in the foothills, mountains and wilderness areas of Southern California. During my active participation in the Forest Preservation Society, I interviewed and photographed people who lived in the forests. I was the photographer of record in these environmental efforts to preserve the historical cabins and resorts of the National Forests. Every photograph has a story. It holds a unique environmental memory. When I look at the photo, I remember the circumstances, temperatures, smells, sounds, mood, worries, joys surrounding the release of the shutter. Its magic.
I am scanning my black and white negatives and using Photoshop as my darkroom.
I was invited to join and attend meetings by a fellow student in a class at Hugo House. I love Photoshop and want to know more.
Thanks a bunch! I don't attend every meet-up but truly appreciate the time and energy it takes to organize this.
