Rear Window (1954): A different neighborhood watch...

We'll meet in the lower lobby, around 1:30 PM, and go into the theater at 1:45. Show time is 2:00 PM.

We can go for a snack and a chat at Tartine (across the street), after the show. Gather in the lower lobby.

This show will be at the Century 20 Downtown, in Redwood City, NOT at the Stanford -- make sure you go to the right theater!! ;-)

And now, on with the show!

Rear Window (1954) Starts: 2:00 PM, Ends: ~3:50 PM

Starring: James Stewart, Grace Kelly, Raymond Burr, Thelma Ritter
Director: Alfred Hitchcock
Plot: A globe-trotting photojournalist finds himself confined to his apartment with a broken leg and a gorgeous, young girlfriend. (Some guys have all the luck…) To stave off cabin fever, he takes up spying on his neighbors across the courtyard -- especially one in particular, who may have chopped his nagging wife into itsy-bitsy pieces...

Presented in a new, restored, digital print as part of Cinemark's Digital Classics series.

Yes, excellent restoration -- looks better than it ever has since 1954. We shall see what this implies for the Stanford in the long run...

Not Hitchcock' s "best", but still my absolute favorite of his. :)

Much like the less successful "Rope," "Rear Window" is something of a gimmick film (all the action confined to one set), but Hitchcock manages to keep it entertaining. Plus, Thelma Ritter is a hoot...

Sorry I'll be watching the Oscars - this is one of Hitchcock's best, undeniably. Love Thelma Ritter and of course Raymond Burr makes one good...well I won't give it away.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
