HOLLYWOOD GOES TO PARIS: Dinner & Double Feature (Gigi & Love In The Afternoon)

Join us for a fun evening with a touch of Paris! We'll be seeing two 1950s Hollywood-goes-to-Paris films -- Gigi and Love In The Afternoon -- and having dinner beforehand at the Crepevine, a French-style café. (Well, they serve crêpes so it qualifies for French cuisine!)

THE MOVIES

Gigi (1957): Weary of the conventions of Parisian society, a rich playboy and a youthful courtesan-in-training enjoy a platonic friendship, but it may not stay platonic for long. (MGM, 115 minutes) For more information, see http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0051658/

Love in the Afternoon (1958): In Paris, the daughter (Hepburn) of a private detective (Chevalier) gets comically and romantically involved with an older, American playboy (Cooper) -- much to the chagrin of her father! Ignoring the fact that Cooper was twice Hepburn's age..., this may well be Billy Wilder's sweetest, most charming film -- with only hints of the classic, Wilder cynicism. It's a triple Valentine to: Hepburn, the City of Lights, and Wilder's comedic master, Ernst Lubitsch. (Allied Artists, 130 minutes) For more information, see http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0050658/

I really appreciate Belinda's organizational and socializing skills. She's very good about introducing everyone, and the movies she selects are worth watching.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
