Rain or shine: This hike is short enough that I think it will be fun to hike in the rain.
Brief description: The Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District created the San Andreas Fault Trail at the Los Trancos Open Space Preserve. Los Trancos' hiking-only trail features 9 stations and an accompanying brochure, which instruct about sag ponds, benches, and other earthquake phenomena. This is a small preserve, but we'll combine the easy earthquake circuit with two other loops at Los Trancos, for hikes from 2 to 3 miles.
More complete details here: http://www.bahiker.com/southbayhikes/lostrancos.html Read the parking directions on this link carefully. People on other Meetups have said to give yourself extra time to get here because the roads are very winding.
This should be a leisurely hike. We'll probably finish the hike in 2-3 hours, given that there are so many guideposts to look at.
