Going to be in town over the Labor Day weekend? Looking to do some interesting and colorful photography? Then lets get together Saturday morning and spend the day touring and shooting the Mission District of San Francisco with its colorful murals!
Let's plan to meet at my favorite mission district coffee house: Cafe La Boheme at 24th Street - just 1/4 block off (west) of Mission (If taking BART, exit the 24th Street station and you'll see the Coffee House across the street). I'll be there at 9am for coffee so do feel free to arrive early if the mood strikes you. From La Boheme we'll head north towards downtown taking the side streets for the murals to 16th Street stopping for lunch at one of the numerous eateries along the way: How about Bruno's on Mission Street which was,or still is, the district's unofficial City Hall?
This is definitely a walking excursion so do wear comfortable walking shoes and maybe bring a water bottle. If you're still a film shooter like me, you'll want to bring along plenty of color film. The digital shooters will want to bring extra batteries.
For those of you that are coming, well see ya Saturday morning. To the rest, have a happy and safe Labor Day!
