Hey everyone. I found this google doc (http://bit.ly/1aXfo8W) about tx scripts from a post on bitcointalk.org. It is a very clear explanation about how they work.

Hmm..it's requesting access. Is this a public doc? Seems like no more?

I think I saved like 200 hours of dev time and a lot of headaches by attending this meeting. This was a good one.

PARKING ALERT: Try 4th street and Mission for Parking. then 3 blocks and 1 across to Bitspace!

    February 2, 2014

  • Sean G.

    Any suggestions for parking?

    1 · February 2, 2014

    • Taariq L.

4th Street Parking on Mission is pretty cheap and just 3 blocks north of Harrison

I'm interested in building and running BitcoinJ. If I'm the only one interested in the Java version, I'm happy to work with libbitcoin, too.

Ok, so I selected Workshop Cafe at 180 Montgomery. It's FREE for your first 10 hours. However, if you already have used up your first 10 hours, let me know and I'll pay for your time at the Hackathon. Receipt will be needed.

Okay so centralization definitely sux so here we go with decentralization: Does anyone have a space for Sunday's hackathon? Our current space fell through. We're still working on one that we can secure for free, but it's looking bleak. Anyone? Anyone?

Blockchain.info is hiring developers, see the meetup's hiring page:

Sounds more like a Hackergarten than a Hackathon. But a Hackergarten is what I'm looking for!

(Sorry for the noise, but I realized that my original comment had the opposite meaning of what I intended.)

Any suggestions for a location? Commuting from NV so it'd really help to have at least approx location.. Are we talking SF or San Jose?

Suggestions for the Sunday hackathon, in increasing difficulty:

    1) download, compile and explore sx tools, the commandline interface that comes with libbitcoin

    2) Use sx tools to do basic transactions, seeing the differences from the bitcoind cmdline from last hackathon

    3) Use sx tools to explore BIP0032 hierarchical deterministic keys and seeded keys using word lists

    4) Use sx tools to build multisig transactions

    5) Embed BIP0032 keys and seeded keys into multisig transactions with sx tools

    6) Bonus: Build an OP_RETURN transaction to embed proof-of-existence from a document hash into a transaction.

How about: Automated contract resolution for trades between 2 crypto-currencies via 2x multi-factor transactions.

I imagine a 2-of-3 transaction for both BTC and LTC for example. The contract is fairly simple and well defined. The arbitrator party can be purely robotic.

Would anyone be interested in helping to complete this framework? https://github.com/oleganza/CoreBitcoin

I think it can already construct and sign (and maybe verify) transactions.

I don't see any proposals. How's this - open source system for merchants to accept any coin. http://cointurtle.com/ and github https://github.com/tomholub/coin-turtle . Altcoin devs can add modules to support yet another coin, and merchants can simply accept all of them / have it converted to Bitocoin automatically when possible.

Other events keep getting in the way but I hope to make it next weekend.

PING! To make sure this Sunday's bitcoin hackathon is a good one, please submit your ideas here so folks will know what's ahead and get ready to help you! Yeah!

  • Tom H.

Any idea which projects do we want to work on? Any proposals yet? :-)

I will be travelling for 2 weeks on a number of project, so I cannot attend this one.
