"WestSide Jazz Club is a Local Quartet with great Swing and Latin Grooves." The West Side Jazz Club is a San Francisco-based band seeking to balance modern, innovative jazz music with a solid tradition of small-group bebop. As a trio, quartet, quintet or larger group, WSJC is organic and dynamic in both its members and sound.

Founded by tenor saxophonist Scott Silverberg in 2002, WSJC brings musicians from a broad pool of local talent, bringing together players with diverse backgrounds & influences. Part workshop, part showcase and all improvisational, the West Side Jazz Club maintains an expansive, ever-changing book of jazz standards, focusing on challenging modern compositions and freshly-updated classics from Monk to Shorter, through Ellington, Rollins and Coltrane.

Looks like there is plenty of interest in jazz in the Richmond. Our vision to to develop a bit of a neighborhood music scene here in the Richmond District of San Francisco. We have a great little place to put on concerts: Westside Art House at Balboa at 7th Ave. We also have a house band: Westside Jazz club. We are interested in many other permutations of the social club however. Perhaps you have a band that would like to host a concert, or you are a musician who wants to sit in on a couple of tunes. You might know a young musician would would love to play along with a real professional band. Maybe you would like us to join you at another venue. We would love to hear from you on any or all of these subjects. Respond to this e mail with any thoughts or if you want to get involved

Our next concert is at Westside Art House 540 Blaboa St @ 7th Ave on Saturday March 15th with Westside Jazz Club

Lynea Diaz-Hagan - Vocals

Jay Stapleton - Guitar

Jan Jackson - Drums

Craig Kleineman - Bass

Scott Silverberg -Tenor Sax

If any one wants to get involved with organizing, please feel free to e mail me. I could use some help with greeting, concession sales and general social butterfly activities.

There will be some snacks and refreshments available for purchase. While the concert is free, we do hope that you will give a little green to the band for their efforts....

Hi Andrea and Sabrina, here is the info we put out on parking. Its very safe to park anywhere around here. s

    Hey Jazz Lovers:
Best travel to get to the Westside Art House (554 Balboa @ 7th Ave) is by MUNI bus. The Balboa 31 goes right by there. If you are driving, I suggest you cruise Funston and Arguello first. They both can be good bets for spots. Balboa has meters and are a good bet around 5:30 or 6PM. also, JFK in the park is a possibility. Enter at 8th. It is three blocks or so. There is a parking app called spotonparking that has a few parking places in the neighborhood as well.
If you live in the inner Richmond, walk on over and bring your furry friends! We love dogs!

    Be Well,

    Helen and Scott

This is so great! One question: Is anyone interested to get dinner out there around 645 pm? Something simple? Or else i will eat in my area. The cafe probably has cookies and cakes.

Hi Andrea, are you planning to drive? If yes, may I carpool with you? I will pay for bridge toll and dinner sounds good too. I also live in the east bay, near Grandlake theater.

Hi Scott, how is the parking situation there? I want to join but I live in the east bay and it seems I have to drive. Is it safe t park on the street and if yes, are they available at that time of the evening? Thanks!
