What's new?

September was a busy month for football fans. There were two fixture-packed FIFA World CupTM qualification days, after which it was the superstars of tomorrows' turn to shine as the U-20 FIFA World Cup in Egypt kicked off on September 24th. So what does FIFA.com have in store for fans next month?

October's major football action includes the next round of South Africa 2010 qualifiers on 10 and 14 October. So far, nine national teams have qualified for the 32 FIFA World Cup final spots and the CONCACAF region is proving to be one of the hottest qualification zones. Be sure to watch and see which nations from the CONCACAF region will make the journey to South Africa next summer

Additionally, there have been quite a few shifts in the World Ranking Table this month with a different team at the number one slot. Check out the current FIFA/Coca-Cola World ranking here.
