Where are you from originally & how did you come to know Euchre?

I've always been big into card games, but I originally learned euchre from my high school English teacher. From there I turned to Yahoo! games, where I got a better feel for the game. But my real education didn't come until I joined the Peace Corps. I spent 2 years playing the game with real people whenever we could wrangle 4 players around 1 table. We played to 11. I realize that might be weird. Also the popular strategy among Peace Corps volunteers seems to differ slightly from the way people tend to play on Yahoo... I've been chided for holding a bower back when my partner thought I should have played it. But I maintain I was being strategic. Either way, I am totally psyched to meet up.

Hey, I'm Matt. Originally from the East Bay, I've moved around some, and now I'm back in the bay.
