Just like our Wednesday runs, we'll meet at the bar (an easy walk from the 24th St. Bart station). From there, we'll carpool to the trail. Please comment if you're driving. Although last time we were spared from riding the bus by some unannounced drivers, that caused some unnecessary pre-run angst for participants. This time there is no bus alternative, so if there aren't enough drivers by Friday afternoon, we'll have to turn people away or even cancel the run. Everyone bring a couple bucks since each car will need $6 exact change for to enter the state park.
This 7.3-mile route comes from the book Trail Runners Guide: San Francisco Bay Area. It combines the single track Summit Loop Trail with an out-and-back on a 2-mile stretch of the wide, partially gravel-paved Ridge Trail. The rolling hills are much less severe than the long climbs on our previous trail runs. On clear days the Ridge Trail has sweeping panoramas of the City, the Bay, and the Peninsula! Bikes and dogs are prohibited, though both were spotted on a test run, along with wildlife including a flock of ravens and a skunk!

El Rio is one of the group's favorite bars where we've had some memorable Wednesday night runs. You never know what's going to be happening there--maybe a burlesque show, a punk rock band, karaoke, pop-up Native American food, or something new! The sprawling back patio is always great too.
