THE RUN:
This week's 4.2-mile loop in Golden Gate Park is nice and flat.  It still presents a challenge for two reasons: First, in order to be different from our last park run, the route has a few sharp turns to follow, so take an extra look at the map.  Second, the Stow Lake Ghost might come out!  If we escape her, we'll continue on to the Academy of Sciences, Conservatory of Flowers, and Angelo Rossi Playground.
Click here or the small map for the printable full-size map.

THE BAR:
This Irish pub and sports bar has plenty of room with an open dance floor for the live music on weekends.  Plus there's an upstairs level with pool and other bar games!
Drinks: full bar, draft beer list
Payment: cash, credit cards
Serves food: no
Allows outside food: yes
Dog friendly: yes

Still have questions? Check the FAQ, then ask away!  #1 most frequent question: Is there somewhere to store my stuff during the run? No. Store your ID and beer money in your pocket. Don't bring any other "stuff."

I have been in this group for a while and every time I can actually make it it starts to rain. I am not a big fan of running in the rain what are the thoughts of just coming for the beer on rainy days?

I am also not a fan of running in the rain, but was looking forward to making it to my first one tonight! In for the beer.

As suggested by Cory's smart-aleck comment, it can be hard for newcomers to break into the group without running. Something about the shared experience of the run seems to bring people together. Glad you two made it out and hope to see you at a better-weather run!

I am really glad we ran, it turned out to be great. The rain really slowed down for us. Good times. Thanks Chris for getting this organized!

From the bar manager: "When there ask the bartender for the nights specials, there is always a killer deal of some sort."

I test-ran this route in December, and it was manageable under a bright moon. The days are a little longer now, we can group together through dark sections (in particular, around the lake), and there are usually a few runners with headlamps.
