How to make money investing in debt

  • Jun 17, 2013 · 6:00 PM
  • Steven's loft

This week, the lead of our investment committee, Steven Gilman, will be giving an encore presentation on how to invest in debt.  Previously, he had given an introduction on this topic but this time he's going to lead a deeper discussion covering important topics such as:

  • the different types of debt issues
  • why we should consider investing in debt
  • how to determine whether debt provides sufficient returns
  • a comparison of debt vs. equity (i.e. stocks)

This will be a very enlightening conversation by somebody who has profited significantly from this type of important investment.  Don't miss it!

Please be sure to RSVP if you will be able to attend, so we know how much food to provide for snacks. This will be a great evening, and we look forward to seeing you there.

I'd also like to have some portfolio management discussion as well. Such as: what do you want your portfolio to achieve? How do you evaluate and consider the components of the portfolio? what about position sizing? This could also lead to a more extensive discussion at another meeting.
