Join Zen teacher Daniel Doen Silberberg for a series of three classes: An Introduction to Modern Zen on 3 consecutive Saturday mornings at Unity SF, 2222 Bush Street (Fillmore), San Francisco, 94115 from 10-11:15 a.m.
This Introduction will include ways to integrate and apply this ancient practice of freedom and self-realization to your contemporary life. There will be talks, experiential activities and plenty of time for questions and answers about meditation, “koans” and Zen practice in general.
Daniel Doen Silberberg, Sensei, is the founder and spiritual leader of Lost Coin, a modern Zen group recently located in San Francisco with an international community of practitioners.
Sensei studied for over 30 years with Genpo Merzel, Roshi , John Daido Loori, Roshi at Zen Mountain Monastery in N.Y.and Hakuyu Taizan Maezumi, Roshi the founder of the White Plum Asangha . He received transmission in 2003 in both the Rinzai and Soto schools of Zen.
Sensei is the author of "Wonderland:The Zen of Alice," published by Parallax Press, 2009, a chapter of which was featured in Shambala Press”s Best Buddhist Writing 2010. The Gettysburg Review will publish "Blue Rain" this winter .
Besides writing and teaching Zen, Doen studies Mandarin Chinese, plays chess, and is interested in technology and stock trading.
