Cologne Intensive October 19-21, 2012

October 19- October 21, 2012

A three-day Intensive led by Daniel Doen Sensei, the founder of Lost Coin Zen, will be held in Cologne, Germany, October 19- October 21, 2012.

The theme of the intensive is “Blowing from the Feet” a phrase taken from the American Jazz idiom. It describes the act of putting one’s whole body, soul and heart into making the music.

This retreat is also the annual “gathering of the clan” (the Sangha) where Lost Coin students from the United States, Canada and Europe come together to sit (zazen) and practice face to face.

One of the most revered Zen masters, Dogen Zengi, talked of a similar thing in the 12th century at the beginning of his renowned ”The Shobogenzo”. Dogen called the practice Bendowa: wholehearted practice.

This Intensive is dedicated to this kind of whole-hearted practice and life. The goal of our study together is that we leave renewed and invigorated, focused on throwing ourselves wholeheartedly into our lives and our practice. It is open to both current Lost Coin students and all other interested truth-seekers. Please start making arrangements now to join us in the historical city of Cologne (Koln), Germany.

The daily schedule will include zazen, instruction (dharma talks) one on one interview (daisan) and group processes.

The cost/donation will be $310 (approximately Euro[masked]).

We will meet each day from 9 a.m. until 5:30 pm.

Our zendo (meeting place) is: Zendo Koln, e. V at Karolingerring 19- 50678 Koln Sudstadt- Nahe Chlodwigplatz

A deposit of $155 (Euro[masked]) may be sent in the U.S. to Lost Coin Zen at 77 Park Hill Avenue, San Francisco, Ca 94117 or to Lost Coin PayPal account which you can access under Member’s tab on the website. To reserve your place, please send this by August 15, 2012.

Where to begin. I think of you and the group often. and remember feeling a part of the practice. To be honest, I have been dealing with depression and adjustments and all else that goes with losing a close loved one. Between the sadness and all the paperwork and details to deal with I realize I "just check out". It's been so long and I'm sure you and everyone have progressed so much along the practice that it will be like new when I get back. I love Lost Coin - you, Caryn, the members and the teachings very much. Love, Kris

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
