Join Doen Sensei and the Lost Coin group for a one-day workshop. In this workshop we will use Lost Coin's unique approach—that of a contemporary American Zen. This approach does not abandon its ancestry yet allows you to apply the practice to support and create new possibilities in your everyday, 21st-Century life. The workshop will help you see the conditioned story of your life, shed the fables that enslave you, and truly put yourself into your life.

Lost Coin incorporates Zen teachings and methods with insights and practices derived from other wisdom traditions—most notably, those of G.I. Gurdjieff and the Fourth Way. Lost Coin embraces contemporary developments in science, technology and art. In the individual practitioner's case Lost Coin develops a meticulous emphasis on development in one's daily life.

The workshop will include meditation techniques such as zazen and koan study that are used to attain realization or enlightenment. We will also practice embodiment techniques including self observation, becoming "objective" to ourselves and others, and "losing" the story of our lives. The practice start where concepts stop—and our lives are the practice.

Lost Coin was founded in 2006 by Daniel Doen Silberberg Sensei. Sensei received transmission from Genpo Merzel Roshi in 2003 and served as the vice-abbot of Kanzeon Zen Center before founding Lost Coin. He also studied with Taizan Maezumi Roshi and Daido Loori Roshi. Doen Sensei was asked to teach the Fourth Way by Mr. William Nyland in 1979. Doen Sensei has a reputation as an approachable, humorous teacher who is able to cut through to the central core of practice. His approach is tempered by 40 years of study and training in Zen, the Fourth Way, psychology, martial arts, and music.
