Continuous Deployment with Ansible

Learn the fundamentals of Ansible--particularly as it applies to deploying on network elements.  While the examples will be based on Junos devices, the concepts can be applied to any network device.  Discuss the current state of change management and how it can be improved.

Learn the basic concepts behind Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, and Continuous Deployment and how to apply subsets of these to the network to create a more agile network.

We'll end with an open forum where you can ask questions about what is possible now and in the future.  The discussion is applicable to network engineers, systems engineers, and other infrastructure roles focused on network configuration change management.

Downloadable mp4 video of the meetup available here. I'll leave it up until I run out of space on my Dropbox :) Kirk, feel free to grab it for archive if you want to keep them somewhere.

I have a couple of articles on Ansible (in the network) that people might find interesting given Tyler's talk [br] [br]

Thanks to Tyler for speaking and to Cloudflare, Juniper, and Nate Lee (Fuze) for the location, food, and video recording.

Awesome, and Tyler also did a great job of handling the deluge of questions. I liked his take on network-centric culture and needs vs. vanilla devops or modern dev.

I have had some requests to video record this talk. Is anyone willing to volunteer to do this (and have the necessary equipment)?

Juniper Networks has been kind enough to sponsor the food and drinks. Thanks to Juniper.

Just to assuage any concerns that Juniper Networks influences this presentation or discussion--they don't. They have not contacted me in relation to this meetup, and this meetup will discuss other vendors.

I am still looking for a venue. If someone is willing to host us, let me know. Preferably in SF SOMA area.

The main talk will start at 6:45PM. We should have food beforehand. Hopefully, we will have an interactive discussion at the end of the talk. Trying to finalize the location.
