Looking to adopt

I'm new to this group and just a couple days too late! I'm looking to adopt or buy one or two chickens (can only do hens) to keep my 9-month hen company. I've tried the adoption sites and craigslist. Does anyone have other ideas that can help me find a companion for Uno?

Thanks!

The Marin Humane Society has hens often.

Here are the shelter hens that I know about!

Petaluma Animal Shelter has 3 hens, Violet & Blackie (who need to be adopted together), and Polete (http://www.petalumaan....

Peninsula Humane Society has a general post for chickens, as they often have them, and asks that you give their adoptions number a call (650/340-7022) to find out what kind they have at the moment (http://www.peninsulah....

Also, it might be worth visiting the San Francisco Animal Care & Control - the last person who adopted said that even though there was only 1 hen listed on their website, they had other chickens at the shelter when that person went (http://www.sfgov.org/....

Violet and her friend have been adopted (called on that one) and Marin hasn't called me back. Thanks for your ideas. If there are any other leads, please let me know.
