3 Young Hens for Adoption (and some roosters, too) - Oakland Animal Shelter

I don't have any photos at this point, but I just heard from one of the volunteers that there are 3 young hens [ADOPTED!] that just arrived at the Oakland Animal Shelter. The adoption fee is only $5, so please go and adopt them!

If you know anyone who lives outside of SF/Oakland who might be willing to save the life of a rooster, there are currently 2 single roosters and a hen/roo pair that also need to get out. The single roosters are at most risk. One is a big white cuddlebug and the other is a tiny bantam. Here's a link to the craigslist post, with photos: http://sfbay.craigsli...

Diane has been adopted! Jack, the tiny bantam rooster, is still waiting for a home.

The shelter decided that the hens will not be made available for adoption - apparently they were breeding hens from a cockfighting bust.

And here are the three roosters! If you know someone who lives outside of SF/Oakland, please spread the word about them!

The last 3 remaining roosters at the Oakland Animal Shelter are being transported to a rescue ranch on Wednesday, hooray! I will update the group next time OAS has chickens for adoption!
