Screenplay Readings

FIRST WEDNESDAY FULL SCREENPLAY

On the first Wednesday of each month, we meet to discuss one member's full screenplay. On August 6, we'll be discussing Eileen's script, "Pandora's Box," which you can find in the files section here:

http://www.meetup.com/SF-Screenwriters/files/

Try to read the script in advance so we can have as thorough a discussion as possible, but please come to the meeting whether or not you've read the script because we'll be reading some of it during the meetup.

This meeting is at Borderlands Cafe, 870 Valencia St. (between 19th and 20th streets), in San Francisco’s Mission District. The location is easily accessible via BART (Mission & 16th or 24th Street), MUNI 14 or 49 bus or the J-Church.

We encourage, but do not require members to buy drinks and/or food from Borderlands – especially the coconut chocolate chip cookies, ‘cause yum! We do ask everyone to stuff $1-$5 in the tip jar at every meeting because karma totally works.

If you have any questions or would like to submit a screenplay for next month's full script meetup, please contact me any time.

Your lovin’,
Phil Dyer

I read your script and looked forward to being there. Sorry I missed meeting you. About your script: I experienced immediately your passion and authentic point of view on a great subject (great = commercial) from beginning to end. For me, it's the story. Good job. And good luck with all those notes you got last night.

Really great session tonight. Eileen's script was a good story and a fun read. Feedback from attendees and our fearless leader, Phil, was supportive, constructive and informed.

This was a fabulous introduction to the group. I must say that you all are absolutely brilliant. Your feedback on Eileen's script went far beyond what I expected to hear, and was extremely helpful to me as a writer.

    Phil,

I may not make it to this one. I'm running late today so have a good one if I don't see everyone.

There is a chance I won't make it tomorrow after all. I have a film shoot this weekend and I may need to be on the location tomorrow night, but after computer class finals tomorrow and the filming this weekend, freedom! Looking forward to being part of the group again.
