I've joined for several reasons. At the top of the list are (a) to find a collaborator on a yet to be decided project, and (b) to get feed-back on query letters to literary agents being drafted for new newly completed feature-length screenplays.
If there are screenwriters out there who want to find their voice and hone their craft, this is the place to come. Those that attend are quite serious about what they spend many, many hours sweating over. The goal is to improve our writing, develop our style, and make certain our work is as good as it can be. It seems to me that we accomplish that every single meeting. Nowadays I would add to the list of goals listed above: to write commercial films for-profit. But that may just be me.
