Welcome, San Francisco 40/50 Something Singles!

Are you an unattached single 40 or 50-something? Would you like the opportunity to get out socially with others in San Francisco?

Whether you're happily single and just looking for ways to meet more people, or looking for that special someone, it's always fun to get out and socialize with others. We have one of the most active Meetup groups in the area, so if you're interested in getting together for drinks, dinners, movies, wine tastings, dancing and other activities, this is the group for you!

Please take a moment to look at the "About Us" section (click on the 'About' link on the left side of the page). There is a page on policies that includes important information about how the group works (no-show policies, event fees, etc.). Some of our key policies include:

1) Membership: The group is intended for 'unattached' singles to get out and socialize together - please do not bring a date to our events.

2) Membership Fee: Meetup charges organizers a monthly fee to host their Meetup groups. In order to cover this fee, we have a one-time $5 membership fee that we ask you pay within 30 days of first joining the group. Please see link on this page to submit your payment. Any fees collected beyond the annual Meetup costs will be funneled back into group activities. (Note: our "charter" members are grandfathered and do not need to pay the membership fee.)

3) No-Show Policies: We reserve the right to exclude those with a history of no-shows from events that have an attendance limit. (See our policy page in "About Us" for more information).

4) Event Deposits: For events with a limited number of spaces (such as a restaurant reservation), we may ask members to pay a refundable 'deposit' to reserve their space - the deposit is refunded if you attend the event or cancel within stated time (generally 24-48 in advance). We use Amazon payments to collect deposits; no personal financial information is provided to the organizers. (See our policy page in "About Us" for more information).

5) Event Fees: Many of our events are free; some involve a fee for a ticket or some sort of event. For some events, we need to collect money in advance using Amazon payments - we will always clearly state the refund policy for these events. (See our policy page in "About Us" for more information).

Check both our calendar and message board for upcoming events (you can also check our calendar of past events to see the range of events we schedule). The message board provides members with the opportunity to suggest impromtu get togethers ... in some cases these events may also get added to our calendar so that the person organizing it has a better sense of how many people to expect. Feel free to suggest events - we're always on the lookout for new ideas!
