This should be a good opportunity to sketch children because they'll be sitting still watching the circus acts. Or you can work on your speed drawing skills and try sketching the performers. There will be live music to help us get up to speed.
The show doesn't start until 2:15, but we'll get there early to stake out a good spot and watch the group set up. It can also be very pleasant to stretch out on the lawn in the sun and sketch the surrounding city buildings. If you want to picnic while waiting you can pick up some really good inexpensive food in the Metreon's food court.

- A folding chair to sit on if you're not comfortable sitting on the grass. I will spread out some tablecloths to sit on.
- Hat, sunscreen, layered clothing to accommodate our unpredictable weather.
Note that this is Pride weekend, and traffic will be heavy in the city. Take public transport if you can manage it.
- The Powell Street BART/MUNI station is two short blocks away. The #14 Mission runs right by here.
- Car parking in the city-run Fifth and Mission garage is $3.50 an hour and is convenient and easy. If you're planning on driving from some other part of the bay and want to find passengers to share the cost, post a note in the Discussion section at the bottom of this page about where you're coming from and people can email you directly through the Meetup site.
