Sunday Streets in the Mission: Valencia St. Without Cars

Valencia Street will be filled with pedestrians, bicycles, music and activities from Market south to 26th Street, from 11:00-4:00.

11:00 We'll meet outside Arizmendi Bakery on Valencia at 24th Street. (Skip breakfast so you can get one of their always-fabulous treats to munch on while you sketch.)

2:00 Meet up again at Borderlands Cafe/Bookstore (between 19th & 20th) to share sketches and chat. If the cafe is too crowded we can sit in the park next door.

BRING

If you have a folding stool or something else to sit on you will have a lot more flexibility in picking a sketching spot. Hat and sunscreen also recommended: this is the sunniest part of the city.

GETTING THERE

Come by bicycle/skateboard/scooter if at all possible!

24th Street BART station is very close to our starting place at Arizmendi Bakery. Our ending spot at Borderlands Books is a little closer to 16th Street station.

There are many buses that run through this part of the city: the #14 and 49 along Mission are the closest, but the 12, 33, 48, 67 and J-Church are also close.

Parking will be difficult but probably not impossible if you have a lot of patience.

Going to be late. Had to apply to jobs. Such is my reality. Hope to be able to come though.

Sorry couldn't rescind rsvp. cat literally chewed cord...no internet. But just put electrical tape on for temporary fix. Sorry I couldn't come. Would have liked too. On the upside, got a quick response to one of the jobs I applied for :)

Ritual Coffee Roasters is reopening, with a show of art by Paul Madonna, the ultimate urban sketcher. Be sure to stop in and check it out as you roam up Valencia. It's between 21st and Hill Streets. (Thanks to Janine for the tip.)
