Sketch old cable cars and big wheels turning. It's all indoors, so rain and cold will not be a problem. The museum is free, but donations to this wonderful old San Francisco institution are much appreciated.
3:00 Meet up afterwards at the Gallery Cafe across the street to share sketches and chat.
Bring a folding stool if you have one, as there might not be a good place to sit near the thing you want to sketch.
Public transportation is the easiest way of getting there. From the Powell Street BART/MUNI station, you can catch the Powell Street cable car (doh). If you want to get there a little faster, go to the Montgomery Street station and catch the #30 or 45 bus (get on at 3rd and Market or on Kearny). Bus lines #1, 10 and 12 will also get you close.
I don't know anything about the parking situation in that area. If you have any tips, please post something in the comments section below.
cheers,
Laurie
Really fun - I could go there again! I did forget that my pen was not waterproof, so it ran when I painted, but it's just another effect!
December 2
A great first meeting for me. I loved the location and it was great to meet some fellow artists.
December 1
Yes I really want to come. The only way I wouldn't make it is if my mom needs me in Daly City and it's always last minute or usually. I have my pencils and pad ready to go.

I love drawing big heavy metal things. This is right up my alley.
Parking is pretty darn sparse up this way so I would not recommend driving. Rode my bicycle up here once on the mistaken belief the location was flat. Hah. It's so NOT flat. The museum is on a hill so I also recommend NOT riding your bicycle ;-) Best bet are the buses like Laurie described.

I'm so sorry I haven't been able to make any of the meetups so far. :( This one sounds like a lot of fun, and would be well worth the trip!
