I just purchased my ticket for the tour; I went on this tour with my students every year for ten years, and I still miss the experience, so I cannot wait. What a great way to celebrate your birthday, Chuck. There is a fabulous dive, down the road, that serves the most amazing home made soups I have ever tasted. Perhaps those, who would like, could venture there afterwards for a bite to eat? I would be happy to lead a rousing chorus of "Happy Birthday" to you. :-)

I also have a ticket for the 2:00pm tour that I won't be attending. I'd like to give my ticket away, but I phoned the tour company and was told tickets are NON-TRANSFERABLE and can only be picked up the day of the tour. (Photo ID is required to pick up tix.) They might open the extra spaces for us "no-shows" on a first-come first-serve basis, but they'll charge for the tickets again.

Pretty cool hike with lotsa info about those amazing creatures. Didn't they look like giant slinkys when they moved? The wind was wicked cold - but not one person complained or whimped out. BRAVO!

Can't think of a more perfect way to start a new year--fresh air, beautiful nature, bizarre and wonderful animals...and the seals were pretty neat too! Sorry I had to rush off, but hope Chuck had a great birthday, and wish all a great year ahead.
