This will be a 6-8 mile Hike rated easy to moderate (depending on your condition).

This place is a gem. You'll likely see wild turkeys, ducks, vultures, deer, and of course the lake.

This was shot last month on the non swimming corner of the lake.

We'll hike up to and around the lake, likely from the Cobblestone side this time, then return down Spring Creek.  There will be a vino/snack break along the trail, then a potluck (also along the trail) on the back side of the lake.

Here's a chance to get out, get some exercise in a beautiful State Park, sip some vino, and chat w/ those who enjoy doing the same!

This is a combined event w/ other Meetup grps, so it will be an excellent opportunity to make new friends.

Directions:

GPS [masked],[masked]

From Hwy 101 take Hwy 12 East and when it hits the street, keep going straight about 2 miles 'till it T's at Summerfield Dr.  Turn Right there and go 3 blocks and turn Left on Carissa, which you'll follow up the hill to the clearing and park there.

What To Bring:

Vino! and cups

Good Hiking Boots/shoes

Layered clothing, hat, sunscreen.

At least 1 liter of water  - Fill your bladder/bottles 1/2 way and refrigerate the night before, then top off w/ ice in the a.m. and you'll have chilled water all day.

Food (lunch) and more food to share (dried fruit/nuts/seeds, chips, dips, salsa, deserts - be creative!)

Drinks - vino, beer, tea, whatever wets your whistle.

$5 activity fee

If you've been on any of my hikes you know what to expect. The vino is required to be a part of this hike... OK, not really, but it's always nice when the vino to hiker ratio is high!

Your sense of humour is an absolute must!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
