hi there! I'm looking to start a small book club in the city with a group of girls. Age range 30/40s'. A little about myself: live in Pacific Heights, work full time, early 40's and love a little wine. I've been wanting to make some new connections with women of similar age/interests. Lately it seems like many of my friends have become a little less available or moved out of the city, so I'm seeking some new connections and good conversations over a glass of wine....or beer (or something harder :)
I've always thought a book club would be fun, but I have to admit, I'm not a "super" book worm, so I would need a little help picking a quality book that people would be interested in reading. I do enjoy reading a good book of ANY genre and discussing over drinks with some cool women. It seems like there have been new bars popping up right and left and it would be fun to try some new places in different neighborhoods.
Here are some book suggestions that I have perused through the NY Times best seller list, Oprah's Book Club and other various book club ideas. If I get enough interest, I will pick a book and a date for later in the month, or a casual meet up so we can meet and pick a book together! Totally casual :) Suggestions: Where'd You Go Bernadette, by Maria Semple; May We Be Forgiven, by AM Homes; The Cuckoos Calling, by Robert Galbraith; Sin in the Second City: Madams, Ministers, Playboys and the Battle for America's Soul, by Karen Abbott; Gone Girl, by Gillian Flynn; Me Before You, by Jojo Moyes - Any other suggestions?<br>
