Monthly Ride - Iron Horse Trail

Meet in the parking lot at the SE corner of Dublin Blvd. and Civic Plaza.

We will determine the location of next month's ride prior to the start.

This month's ride will be on the Iron Horse Trail: http://www.ebparks.org/parks/trails/iron_horse

Distance will be 20 miles with a few riders opting for additional mileage

Pace will be mixed. Many will ride at ~10 mph, a few others at ~15 mph

Lunch at Lunardi's Market in Danville, 10 miles from the start. Market includes a Peet's Coffee and an awesome deli and bakery as well as everything else found in a grocery store

Other stops as required for regroup or restroom

Hope to see you there!

A fabulous day for a ride! Although the ride started with temps in the upper 40's, it didn't take long at all for the sun to warm things up and show that the move of the start time to 10 AM for the months of Dec-Feb was probably a good idea.

Truly a pleasure meeting you Neal and Peggy! John, good to see you again, looking forward to riding with you and Russ in your neck of the woods before too long...

Scott, Carol, Dave, Kevin, Zach: Another cool ride with y'all! The next BARC Monthly ride (December 28) is on the Alameda Creek Trail in Fremont, which is now posted. One of Alameda Creek Trail's positive attributes is that there are no street crossings (all street crossings are underpasses). Also, the views of SF Bay on the loop around Coyote Hills are quite nice and well worth the effort. The quaint little town of Niles near the start is worth a visit.

Kevin, if you decide to ride, let me know, I can meet you at the Fremont BART (about 2.5 miles from the start).

Sure, looks like a San Leandro-to-Fremont BART train arrives at Fremont at 9:38, should be enough time.

Great as usual. Always enjoy gentle grades, and good company.

You'll miss out on the free lunch for being the person who came the farthest to join the ride... it looks like Dave may be the recipient of the prize... Happy T-Day Mike and kids!

Hey Mike from Sac! Noted you RSVP'd for the ride. Coming all the way from Sac/RC eh? I ride the American River Trail 3-6 times a year. Best bike trail in NorCal. That gives me another wacky idea: The person who travels the furthest to get to a ride should get a free lunch or coffee... Dave M.: That would mean I owe you a lunch on the Marsh Creek ride for all the times you've traveled from Modesto to ride.

Scott: After-ride Burger and Brewski on me for you and Dave M this Saturday on the Marsh Creek ride!

While I won't say no to a brew and burger, we're about the same distance from Oakley.

Yes, and it looks like it would be about 1 hr 45 min drive for me, and I really like your wacky idea.

    Looking forward to meeting everybody!

      Hey there!

Oops, intended more than just a "hey there". I'm going to post a ride for next weekend, one that Scott our esteemed sponsor said he would attend. It will be on Saturday 11/9 or Sunday 11/10 on the Marsh Creek Trail. Meeting spot will be at Big Break Regional Park in Oakley (http://www.ebparks.or...). I will be posting a ride for this weekend, but it will be a ride that probably won't be suitable for most trike riders as it will be on roads and at a slightly higher pace than most trike riders. Do you want to be given Event Organizer status? Then you could post and announce rides!
