I really enjoyed this last Sunday trike ride to Point Richmond and Starbucks and meeting and talking to different members. I should maybe eat some energy foods next time for my ride back up to home.
I also need to apologize to the group of Trike/bike riders that waited up for me after leaving Pt. Richmond heading back to where we started near Costco. Next time i fall back I will contact Zach via cellphone instead of text.

Thanks again to a really nice ride and getting to know some of the trike riders.

    Suggestion: We need name tags!

Name tags? Aren't those just like badges in Blazing Saddles... You could just say, "Hey YellowTrike!"

Sorry I couldn't make it. I pretty much don't ride when I'm on call for work, lugging the laptop and other things around is a severe PITA. But, at least I got my car back.

    December 17, 2013

    • Russell

Isn't riding with us worth a severe PITA? Good thing we're not a DF group or we'd be talking PITA... literally. :-)

It was a nice ride on sunday. looking forward to sat. 28 ride.

    • Russell

Glad that you made the trip from Marin to join us Mark. Once you're sure you can make the ride on the 28th, please RSVP Yes as it is helpful to have accurate attendance and larger numbers is encouraging to riders on the fence about joining the group or attending a ride. This last Sunday was a great ride to Pt. Richmond and through the tunnel and up the steep hill back to Costco.

I uploaded 7 photos I took of the Recumbents of the East Bay 3rd Sunday monthly ride to Point Richmond today. After some colder than normal weather earlier this week, the weather was good on this ride and the turnout was about as large as it gets on these rides. Thanks to Carol for bringing home made brownies for everyone. A group of four of us continued on to the end of the cycle path on the new eastern span of the Bay Bridge. I rode to and from the ride and had 86 kilometres on the clock when I returned home.

    Fun and social as always!

Please pass along to the powers that be that since I'm on BART to get there, I'll be there as close as I can to 9:00...track maintenance and other delays notwithstanding.

  • Scott

So right now I am without a vehicle to transport the trike and there's no ETA from the shop, and it looks like I may have to work Sunday afternoon.

    December 11, 2013

    • Zach

That is good news. Did you have the clots when we were doing the Iron Horse ride a couple weeks ago?

      December 12, 2013

    • Scott

Yes, I did, but I thought it was just a knot in my muscle. When I got back and looked at my calf is when I decided I had a much more serious problem.

I 'll make mind up to go the extra 20 miles after the first 20 miles. A lot depends on how much coffee I drink.

    December 11, 2013

    • Russell

I meant Tour Easy not GRR...

      December 11, 2013

    • Neal O.

Well.... I can bring my GRR? Neither bike has a cup holder, I'll just use my aerobelly. It holds coffee for an undetermined amount of time.

Well I'll be coming down the hill near the 700 ft. elevation so I hoped someone will be riding on Sunday otherwise I'll be freezing my butt off for nothing. Hey Zach are you riding from Alameda?

    December 11, 2013

    • Zach

Yes, I'm riding from Alameda. I have chain tubes for Russell's Scorpion fs to bring to the start or if he is starting at the end of Powell St. in Emeryville I will bring them there.

      December 11, 2013

    • Zach

I just read Russell's PM about starting at the normal ride start at Central and Rydin and doing extra distance after the ride rather than starting in Emeryville. So I'll ride directly from Alameda to the ride start at Central and Rydin with the chain tubes in my pannier.

      December 11, 2013

  • Davin

Hmmm okay, I never rode to Pt. Richmond before on the bike so I didn't know that distance. So that will be 40 miles plus the mileage from my house and elevation climb when I return.

    December 11, 2013

  • Davin

From near Costco to the new Bay Bridge and back is 40 miles?

    December 10, 2013

    • Russell

From the REB ride starting point near Costco to the new Bay Bridge and back is about 20 miles. The REB ride USUALLY goes north on the Bay Trail to Point Richmond and back which also happens to be about 20 miles (18-22 depending...). In any event, I (and perhaps others) plan to continue riding after the REB ride to get an extra 20 miles of riding in, going in whatever happens to be the opposite direction that the REB ride takes.

      1 · December 11, 2013

  • Russell

    C-y'all at 9am!

I (and perhaps several other regulars) plan to continue riding after the "official" REB ride, probably going to the new Bay Bridge Trail again... adds ~20 miles to the ride making for ~40 miles total.

    December 10, 2013

  • Davin

It's C-O-L-D out there and hoped by Sunday it will warm up.

    December 9, 2013

    • Kevin

Amen to c-c-c-c-old. But I don't want to have all my winter miles on the trainer, so I'll be there unless it threatens to rain. :)

      December 9, 2013

    • Scott

Yeah, it'll be chilly. I'm also on call for work, so I may not be able to make it, hope I can, though!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
