Return to Freedom Ride

The “Return to Freedom” rally, hosted by Easy Racers, will be on July 26-27th this year. We would like to see as many different recumbents as possible as well as our own Easy Racers Series. The event will feature a meet and greet at the Easy Racers factory, a tour of the factory, and a Grand Reopening of the Easy Racers Museum. Two rides are scheduled, a short twilight ride on Saturday and Sundays Freedom ride, with lunch catered on beautiful Pacific Grove Beach at the halfway point.
We are currently working on camping and hotel options as well as many more details, but for now, mark those dates in your calendar!

On Saturday: A meet and greet at the Easy Racers factory along with a tour of the factory, and a Grand Reopening of the Easy Racers Museum... We will also hold the first ever Western Recumbent Swap meet & Garage Sale between 10 am and 2 pm. This is great opportunity for attendees to swap and sell some of their “stuff” as well as check out our own garage sale! Then a short ride on Saturday afternoon after we  clean from the garage sale.

On Sunday: The Return to Freedom Ride will start at 10 am from the factory, with lunch catered on beautiful Pacific Grove Beach at the halfway point. For those not wishing to finish the ride after lunch there will be some SAG support available to get you back to the factory.

The whole event only cost $35.00 which includes swap meet, entrance fee, and catered lunch on Sunday and Return to Freedom Ride T-Shirt.

    I don't see a way to change my RSVP to "no", perhaps because it is after the 26th. I won't be able to take the day off today because I have a backlog of trikes to assemble.

    Just signed up. Does anyone want a t-shirt? I haven't fit into a 2XL for the last 20 years or so.

      John, maybe the wife could use another 2XL nightie?

    In case anyone wants to know, there will still be a BARC Monthly Ride on Saturday July 26. I won't be there as I plan to attend this ride, but I will make sure a ride is scheduled, most likely on the SF Bay Trail...

      Maybe there will not be a monthly ride after all?

    How long is the Sunday ride, and what is the elevation change? Age is taking it's toll on some of us old timers, we also sag in a different way these days:-). But I hope to make both days, may try to sell my EZ lite which has very few miles but accumulating rust from my bay area marine environment...needs a new home!!

      Allan, I'm 69.5 y/o, but I'm not the leader, Neal Oren is. Your riding history speaks pretty clearly that you'll be fine on the ride unless your fitness or health has changed dramatically. Note that my proposed camping trip wrapped around the Easy Racers ride is optional and may not happen unless someone else wants to pack for bike camping with me. Nevertheless, I'll be doing the Sunday Return to Freedom ride one way or the other (with or without camping).

      Allen, The whole ride will be about 70 miles, 35 to Pacific Grove for lunch and 35 back. The terrain is pretty flat.

    I have posted a bike-camping trip that wraps around and combines with this "Return To Freedom" ride. Here's the camping:

    The details are now listed in our Easy Shop. the link is;

    This year will be a two day event with the actual ride being on the second day. On the first day we will have a garage sale and swap meet. Anyone that signs up for the event is encouraged to bring their old stuff to sell to other "Freedom" riders. We will also be participating by trying to clear out some of our stuff. Over the next few weeks we will post some pictures of our stuff to see if we can pique some interest.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
