Portola Valley Loop

Meet in the parking lot near Chain Reaction Bicycles in Los Altos. Ride a variant of what is known by cyclists in the area as the "Portola Valley Loop". Stop for lunch/break at Robert's Market in Woodside at mile 18. Total distance 32 miles. The route is subject to input and change, but the route I've planned can be found here:

Thanks to Mike B. for the awesome suggestion!

Note that although there is some climbing, it is not as much as the total shown in the link and climbs are not long.

Another option is to meet at Don Edwards Reserve on the east side of the Dumbarton Bridge. Then ride over the bridge to Portola Valley loop. This would allow folks to take BART to Union City and ride to the meet up point. Or if you want a little longer start, meet at the Isherwood staging area which is on Isherwood just east of the bridge over Coyote Creek next to Quarry Lakes Park. Again, folks can take Bart to Union City and ride to the start. Then we go over the Bridge to Portola Valley loop.

So many choices! We can just keep doing different options!

Russell, when we do this ride again, Peter said Gunn High School near Foothill and Arastradero has a parking lot that is free for use on weekends.

Definitely better than setting the meeting spot at a parking lot that we can't park at!!!...
