Here's a link to a story about the ospreys as seen at Point Richmond. If you scroll down, there are photos of the family of birds on the crane

Rich, yes, you're correct about the possible added risk in parking at 'Point Emory'. I was one of those with a broken in vehicle there earlier this year. Suppose I should have learned my lesson, though, it had been on a weekday evening. We'll play it smart and safe and say anyone interested in starting early.......let's meet at the far end of the Emeryville Marina Park at about 8:00, with roll out at 8:15.

Checking back at March and April rides, we met at 8am, and there are toilets nearby at Marina Point, which I need. When I googled Point Emery, there was a warning of recent car tampering, which I realize can occur anywhere, but I like that Marina Point has lots of eyes around.

Zach, I could be interested in starting from the Emeryville Marina Park with you and anyone who else shows up. What say about meeting 8:00 or so, with a take off time of 8:15?

Or, alternative meeting spot, already on the trail, would be at 'Emeryville Point'. There is parking for about 10 vehicles.....we could meet and leave from there at about 8:20 to 8:25. Let me know your preference......

Scott, remind me to talk to you about "laying claim" to this ride... I think we should just call this the Monthly SF Bay Trail Ride and ditch the Recumbents of the East Bay tag. REB seems largely defunct now...

Anyone want to start at Emeryville Marina Park? Russell, I'd be up to doing the bay bridge again if you are game.

I'm interested in starting at Emeryville Marina Park since I have to ride through Emeryville anyways to get to Richmond and it isn't much out of my way. What time were you thinking of starting at Emeryville Marina Park?

I prefer to start at Rydin and Central at 9 and get in the extra miles afterward now--that way I don't have to get up so early. If anyone starts early in Emeryville, I'll ride with you in that direction after the ride. I'm up for riding out to the bridge afterward.

    Hi,

How many miles is this ride? I remember a similar one being about 20 miles round trip.

Ray, the ride is still ~20 miles. Some of the riders sometimes agree to add extra miles before and/or after so if you want to ride more than 20 there are almost always willing participants.

If I ride on Sunday, I would be coming from my house up ontop of Moeser in El Cerrito so Emeryville would be further away for me. Just my input. But I wouldn't mind riding to the bay bridge again.

This is my first chance to attend one of these, so I will be there.

It's an optional that I will attend on Sunday although I have a wedding the day before to attend. It's one of those ten courses Chinese dinners afterwards.
