SF Babel: San Francisco's International Language Exchange Meetup

OVERVIEW

We try to provide a fun, friendly, relaxed group where you can practice speaking a new language and meet people from all over the world!

Our gathering takes place in a bar environment, so there is usually music playing and we hope to have a lot of people so it will be busy and bustling. This is obviously still a fairly new meet up, so invite lots of friends and just come hang out and practice another language!

All SF Babel Members get discounted draft beer! All you have to do is present your name tag (which you will receive at the event)

HOW IT WORKS

The idea of the group is that you give help to the group (helping those who are learning your native language) and you get help from the group (you are helped by others who speak the language you want to practice). This way everyone benefits!

We typically have native speakers of French, Spanish, English, Portuguese, Korean, Japanese, German, Polish, Italian, Dutch, Turkish, Mandarin, Russian, Armenian, Arabic and many other languages.

When you arrive, just introduce yourself to Marcus and Matt and they will introduce you to others who speak the language you want to practice to get you started. It's fun and FREE!

INVITE YOUR FRIENDS WHO ARE LOOKING TO PRACTICE A LANGUAGE AND IT WILL BE SUPER FUN.

HOW LONG IT LASTS

We get started at 7:00 pm and the group is usually there until at least 10pm, but you can arrive and leave at whatever time you like.

QUESTIONS?

If you have any comments, questions, problems, concerns or ideas, just talk to Marcus or Matt about it. We will do our best to make sure you have a positive experience!

Remember, this group is a hobby for us; we run it just for fun, we love it and we hope you will love it too!

It was Fun! It started a bit slow. I didn't realize it was Mardi Gras. I feel horrible! I should have gotten beads! :( Next year I guess...

Japanese! Do Japanese. We should have a good group of 70 or so people coming out. Many people come via their language school and don't RSVP on meetup. Additionally with the DDOS attack with meetup, I think a lot of people weren't able to RSVP early.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
