Pedersen began his career at Xerox's Palo Alto Research Center where he managed
research program on information access technologies.? In 1996 he joined Verity
purchased by Autonomy) to manage their advanced technology program.? In 1998 Dr.
joined Infoseek/Go Network, a first generation Internet search engine, as
Search and Spidering.? In 2002 he joined Alta Vista as Chief Scientist. Alta
later acquired acquired by Yahoo! , where Dr. Pedersen served as Chief Scientist
Search and Advertising Technology Group. Prior to joining Microsoft, Dr.
Chief Scientist at A9, an Amazon company.
? Ronald M. Kaplan,? Chief Scientist and Principal Researcher at the Powerset
Ronald M. Kaplan is Chief Scientist and a Principal Researcher at the Powerset
of Microsoft Bing. He is also a Consulting Professor in the Linguistics
Stanford University and a Principal of Stanford's Center for the Study of
Information (CSLI). He was previously a Research Fellow at the Palo Alto
(formerly the Xerox Palo Alto Research Center), where he was the manager of
