Please indcate whether you are already an LF photographer or would like to get started in LF photography in near future. (If you have no intention of doing LF photography, you may be better served by joining other photography groups.)

Portrait and still life, but is open to most topics. Actually, would also like to discuss the "mechanics" around shooting large format, e.g. labs, scanning and so. On.

What are your photography subject areas (e.g. landscape, portrait, etc.)?

No particular subject, have been shooting landscape and street but would also like to learn more about shooting portraits, particularly on large format.

Do you do B&W or color or both types of photography? What film do you use? If you use traditional darkroom, what developers do you use?

Have shot both chrome (Provia 100f and Velvia 50) as well as b&w (Across 100). In 35mm and 120 I mostly shoot Kodak color negative film, but also mixing in som b&w mostly tmax400. I've got some basic darkroom experience, but would certainly like to try it some more. Time is of course a limiting factor though.

Do you use digital techniques (scanning, Photoshop, digial printing, etc.) for producing the prints or you use traditional darkroom or both? What digital printers and papers do you use? What traditional darkroom chemisty and papers do you use?

For roll film I'm completely lab-dependent for processing and scanning. When I print, I look for a lab that prints Fuji Crystal Archive. I don't do any digital printing at all, I've tried it, but it's too much hassle compared to just sending the files to a lab.

What type of LF camera(s) do you use (e.g. 4x5" Arca Swiss)? It's perfectly okay to join this group even if you don't have an LF camera yet.

Introduction

Hi, I'm recently moved to the Bay Area and indeed to the US. I'm a 100% film shooter and is trying to get in to large format photography with my Graflex Super Graphics.

What Mathias S. is saying about this Meetup Group

I can't think of a better way to learn large format photography, or with a better group of people, than this group. Five stars!
