OK, the title is silly, but Lunar (aka Emily Kelley) and her SO have offered their hospitality for a meetup with ze foods.

Okay, here's Lunar aka Emily Kelley with the details!

First of all, we are the house in the back at the VERY END of the driveway, our neighbors are nice Japanese people who I don't think are otherkin and would be very, very confused if their house were besieged by a bunch of nonhumans.

Food details updated by Arethinn 10/10/14:

Vegan curry with rice will be on offer. Some have tossed around ideas of vegan, gluten-free brownies. We have an interesting cross-section of dietary restrictions, so if you would like to bring something, please make it vegan, gluten free, and no peanuts or tree nuts. (Or at very least, bring a detailed list of ingredients so relevant persons can avoid!)

Control returned to Lunar:

We have coffee, wifi, espresso across the street at the Peet's, we're accessible walking from Caltrain or there's ample free street parking, and BYO adult beverages otherwise we can probably crack open some cider or wine.

Oh there's also a cat, so if you're highly allergic, take precautions. He's good with new people though.

I know right? :P We did talk about some otherkin/woo kind of stuff...just...with MST3K in the background.

Obviously it was awesome, because I hosted it. (No it actually was though.)

I have acquired the recommended Bob's Red Mill brownie mix and am going to give the brownies a shot. Because I am crazy I am hoping to try minis flavored with flower waters (have rose and orange; thinking of attempting to hunt down lavender). I hope it's not terrible :-/

Also, don't worry if the flower water disappeared, I have acquired elderflower liqueur, so there can still be flowers. \o/

I got some of this, too: http://www.greenbar.b... I want to save most of it for future things, but I poured off some into my husband's pocket flask and we can taste it.

Ok well i have to take care of my hospice friend tmrw how late do you think this will run? I might be able to stop by late

Until people leave, really. You can totally swing by later and I'll hook you up with food and companionship even if the others have drifted off, especially with someone in hospice :(

Okay, so I had a beef stew in my head buuuuut now the menu is going to be vegan, so here's an idea. How do we feel about cauliflower, carrot, and chickpea curry, with coconut milk and basmati saffron rice?

(I also potentially have my friend Fox coming, who is peanut and treenut allergic, but she's fine with coconut, thus I would usually throw cashews in too but not this time around.)

Personally I probably wouldn't like just carving up a pumpkin and eating it. Chunks in a stew is ok. Sauce baked in a hollow pumpkin is not likely to appeal :-/

I've settled on slow-cooked butternut squash in the curry, so no worries. I'd need to try something like that beforehand to find out how it goes. Brown sugar, spices, and butter baked in a hollowed acorn squash though...I can attest to that being fantastic if you're in the mood for a sweet squash.

So should i bring something to share? I was gluten free for 8 years so i can bake somegluten safe sweets

We're omnivores with no other restrictions. You're probably not likely to hit our major disliked foods in a slow-cooker dish (eggplant stew? ew).

    • Emily K.

Agreed on the ew. Eggplant is just...not...my thing. L likes it for some reason I can't grok. At the moment I'm leaning towards my fan-freakin'-tastic beef stew.

I volunteer my house in Menlo Park (accessible from Caltrain even!), if y'all are foolish enough to eat food from a fairy who is also a kitchen witch. :D
