June's Dinner (Medieval Madness - no reading required!)

Medieval Madness is a dinner theatre experience in a 15th century setting. For the price of a ticket you get a 4-course dinner, 2 tankards of ale or 1 goblet of raspberry mead (from breweries that existed prior to 1453!), a comedy show, a real (not choreographed) sword competition....and of course, the company of your fellow members. There's also a bar that sells wine, mead, and blueberry beer, among other choices (including soft drinks).

Tickets for our group are discounted at $41.00 (~30% off). I know this might seem a bit expensive, but remember you're getting dinner, drinks and entertainment. Imagine how much dinner and a movie (especially at ticket prices these days) would cost, and suddenly this amount seems a lot more reasonable.

Please note that we will be locking in RSVPs several days in advance. Please keep your RSVP updated and accurate.*

  • For those of you who already have a Google Offers (or other) voucher, bring a printout and please honor your RSVP (so we're not held liable for a missed reservation). You don't need to do anything except RSVP here and include your voucher # when answering RSVP questions.
  • For everyone else who needs to buy a ticket, you must call in and pay for your ticket over the phone [masked]); simply RSVPing here does not guarantee you a spot. When calling, ask for Lord Vijay's group on June 16.

Since this is meant to be the 15th century, the meal is served family-style, and you should be prepared to eat with your hands. If you have any specific restrictions or allergies, the restaurant can make special arrangements (if you need to check on this, call them with questions at[masked] and please give them plenty of advance notice).

Medieval Madness is metro-accessible (Blue and Yellow). Street parking is free after 7pm, or the restaurant offers $8 all night parking if you'd prefer (just let them know by phone). Seating begins at 6:55 PM sharp, so please don't be late. You are more than welcome to bring friends, significant others, or family!

*Since dinner meetups require reservations and commitments to the restaurant, and since missing one of these meetups may take a spot away from someone else who wants to go, we'll need to have a stricter attendance policy than normal. For dinner meetups, a no-show will prohibit you from attending another dinner meetup for 4 months after the no-show. Thanks for your understanding and cooperation!

    Even better than last year, which I didn't think was possible! Because we were a larger group, I think we got more attention this year, and more of a chance to participate in the show, which was awesome. The food was even better than last year, and the ale was fantastic. Can't wait to go again!

    Thanks for everyone who came out, and for all your cooperation in coordinating our reservation!

    @Everyone: We're all confirmed for tomorrow night. Please remember
    (a) to PLEASE arrive on time, seating begings at 6:30;
    (b) that we'll be eating with our hands sans utensils;
    (c) to please bring ID and cash/card in case you want to order from the bar or buy a goblet; and
    (d) to please bring cameras and take pictures, and if you want to dress for the era, you're more than welcome!

    @John Asbaghi: You can expect a call from Medieval Madness about pre-paying for your ticket.

    Thanks!

    VJay my box is green and I bought my tickets already, but the host dude did not ask me any questions. He just took my credit card number and said that I could pick them up at the door.

    Hi Vijay,

    I purchased my google offer and remember RSVPing and answering all appropriate questions but I figured I'd just cover my bases and double check. Can you let me know if I'm good to go?

    Thanks,
    Viraj

    We need to start finalizing our numbers with Medieval Madness, so everyone attending MUST have a confirmed voucher or purchased ticket. If you haven't yet, please purchase your tickets ASAP (before June 9). Then click "Change RSVP" in the green "Your RSVP: Yes" box. Hit "RSVP" to reach a page with 2 questions. The first asks for your voucher # (if applicable), the second asks for confirmation you bought a ticket.

    Thanks, everyone. I hope you're all looking forward to a great night!

    I don't see any questions and clicking on the event page doesn't do anything either. I just purchased the Living Social deal, thanks Prashant!

    Just another request to PLEASE purchase your ticket(s) this week if you haven't already AND update your RSVP answers to let us know. Call[masked] & ask for "Lord" Vijay's table on June 16, & make sure you're given our special rate of $41/person.

    Then, please update your RSVPs & revise your answers accordingly. If you RSVPed from the Meetup App it skipped the questions, so please visit the event page: http://meetu.ps/8Jz6j to answer them now. Thanks, everyone!

    Ok, someone got back to me about the ticket I've got and I'm giving it to them, so no need to respond to my previous post anymore. Thanks!

  • Prashant

    So, I purchased tickets for myself and Anjali and it turns out I can't make it. Anjali is still coming, but we now have a ticket we bought and can't use. If someone still needs to buy a ticket, please PM me and either PayPal me the money or bring $41 to the HH on Sunday. If someone let's me know they want to use the ticket I bought, I'll go ahead and update the reservation.

    If you still need to purchase ticket(s), PLEASE do so this week. Call[masked] & ask for "Lord" Vijay's table on June 16, & make sure you're given our special rate of $41/person.

    We'll need to increase our reservation & it will help persuade the venue if most of our attendees have purchased their tickets.

    Then, please *update* your RSVPs & revise your answers. If you RSVPed from the App it skipped the questions, so please visit the event page: http://meetu.ps/8Jz6j to do so. Thanks!
